Info for patients

About your Appointment

Your doctor has requested that you see a cardiologist for a consultation. Your appointment could take between 45 minutes and 1.5 hours. If referred for consultation and specialist testing, you will be examined by the cardiologist prior to any tests being undertaken and a comprehensive report will be sent to your referring doctor.

Where to find us

Please refer to our locations section for more information about our rooms. You can access a street map and contact details by clicking on the appropriate location on the map.

What to Bring

a. Medicare/DVA card

b. Pension card

c. Private Health Insurance Card

d. Referral letter

e. Recent pathology and x-rays

f.  List of current medications

g. Suitable sportswear (shorts) for exercise testing

h. Joggers if preferred for exercise testing

It is advisable not to wear any moisturising lotions on the day of your appointment as they can make using the testing equipment difficult.

Fees and Accounts

On the day of your visit to our rooms you will be provided with an itemised account for the professional services provided - and payment in full is required on the day at that time. This does not apply to pensioners or Veteran Affairs patients.

Payment can be made by cash, cheque, EFTPOS or credit card. An immediate rebate on your account can then be claimed at any Medicare office, or by mail, if you prefer.

The out-of-pocket amount ("gap") is the difference between our fee and the Medicare rebate - and the $300 for rooms-based services over a monthly period. (Please note this does not include nuclear services provided by Sydney Nuclear Medicine.) If you are experiencing financial difficulty please feel free to bring this to our attention.

Hospitalisation

The major hospitals that we service are Sydney Adventist Hospital (the SAN), Wahroonga, the Hills Private Hospital, Baulkham Hills and Mater Misericordiae, North Sydney. Many of our patients are also referred to other major hospitals around Sydney for certain procedures or investigations.

Should you require hospital admission for coronary angiography, coronary angioplasty and stenting or electrophysiology studies your cardiologist will discuss this with you in detail and offer you further reading material to take home.
